What’s the purpose of your intelligence if you don’t feel? You can reason and it will take you far, but at some point you will stop.

Your heart, on the other hand, knows love and inspiration — it opens the gateways to the impossible.

Do you feel? Can you feel? Do you feel the courage, fervor, and sacrifices of those who risked their lives for your freedom? Do you feel the pain of your countrymen in the throes of poverty for ages?

Did you ever try to put yourself in the shoes of others to understand their desperation? Is it familiar and feels like yours?

Have you felt uncertain and confused when you left your Motherland for another country? When you thought your newfound country eased and muffled that confusion, it still leaves you more confused. Yet, you have to be fearless to survive “out there”, anyway?

Did you feel like giving up at one point and promised you won’t give a rat’s ass anymore? Did you have to un-feel everything because numbing yourself was better than being frustrated?

Would you rather talk or condemn, or find solutions to bring back that dignity that you lost a long time ago?

Have you found ways to help and lend comforting words to soothe your countrymen?

And when the whole world is against you, will you still dare stand your ground and fight for what you believe is right? If your people rally against you, disparage your name, and reduce all your efforts to “craziness”, will you really still stick to it? Do you really have the resoluteness to overcome the biggest obstacles along your way?

Opening your heart for the Motherland is the first step to being a patriot. Patriotism is not overrated. If you answered yes to these questions, you will make miracles for your country and others.
